As president of the Chicago Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians, Judy Freeman's role is to assist in scheduling activities for the chapter's membership, to interface with national SAH and keep the Board engaged.

Judy was born in West Rogers Park, and grew up in Highland Park. After graduating from Northwestern University with a B.A. in Art History, she completed an M. A. in Art History with a concentration in Museum Studies from The George Washington University in Washington, D. C., After serving her "term" in D. C, she returned to Chicago where she worked in the Special Events Department at the Art Institute of Chicago. Her last job before retirement was as a consultant to the Department of Architecture and Design at the Art Institute of Chicago. In between, she worked for the Chicago International Art Exposition (in its early days at Navy Pier) and did special events for Carson Pirie Scott. She is also involved with the North Side Affiliate of the Museum of Contemporary Art.
